What Are Caustic Soda Flakes?
Caustic soda flakes are a solid form of sodium hydroxide, produced by evaporating liquid caustic soda. They are highly hygroscopic (absorb moisture from the air) and must be stored in airtight containers to maintain their quality.

Caustic soda flakes are produced through the chlor-alkali process. In this method, a brine solution (sodium chloride and water) is electrolyzed to produce sodium hydroxide (NaOH), chlorine gas, and hydrogen gas. The sodium hydroxide solution is then concentrated by evaporating water, forming a liquid caustic soda. This liquid is further cooled and solidified into flakes. Finally, the flakes are packaged in airtight containers to prevent moisture absorption and ensure quality.
